I wonder this because I have a fade haircut and dress “urban” and have diamond stud earrings, but am a senior in college and not a thug/crackhead/etc. I work about 40 hrs a week and have since I was in high school. I guess I have this question bc I grew up in Chicago and LA and the cultures were all blended bc I was a military kid. I just think I am “urban” but in the south a lot of white people seem to think I want to be “black” or a thug. Why is this? You cannot act a race or ethnicity. I am a very diverse person though, I don’t really like white girls that much at all (dating wise) and prefer latinas and black girls more because they are more naturally curvy and gorgeous. Why is it people have a negative attitude based upon looks and who I like (to date, be friends with, etc)?? Is it just me?

My girlfriend & I have recently split up (March) after 2 years together. I suspect she has gone back to her ex, but that is another story & I cannot prove anything, so I’m not going there. We originally were on a break but 5 weeks later she has dumped me for good.I bought her a pair of platinum & diamond for her birthday in April, with a message stating that I loved her & this was a token of my love for her as well as a birthday present.I do not want or expect the earrings back as they were a gift, but I do not know many women who would keep them if they did not want the sender/buyer in their lives. Most women I have spoken to have said if I didn’t want to be with someone, I would send them back. She hasn’t done so, so I suppose I live in hope that she still loves me and may want me back in future. This is the thank you I received from her.Hi Andrew,

Thank you so much for the beautiful earrings - i was absolutely gobsmaked let me tell you. I really do not deserve them and I dont know what else to say except thank you x

You really dont have to keep telling me what I already know believe me Andrew I do know and I do remember too, but just cant speak and write about it ok x Please take care of yourself and stop brooding around. Go and see your friends and have a good crack and a dram (thats what you jocks call it isnt it). You are right life is too short but it has to be right for everybody doesnt it, otherwise there is just unhappiness.

I always depend on friends for this kind of question but I wanted to see what the community thought.

I’ve been dating this lady for almost two years. We are NOT planning on getting engaged at this time.

However, I have refrained from getting her any jewelry as a gift thus far. We have always erred on the side of caution and prefer to “take it slow.”

But I want to get her diamond stud earrings this Christmas and I’ve been doing some looking. I can find 1 ct. earrings in platinum for $2,000 to $3,000, which is in my price range. That is for 1 ct. TOTAL, meaning that each earring is only 1/2 ct.

Now I’m thinking that may not be enough. But to get 1 full ct. in each ear (2 ct.) the price jumps to $6,000 to $8,000 if they are set in platinum.

I could pull it off if I had to, but naturally, I’d prefer to keep the price lower instead of higher.

Is the 1/2 ct. in each ear an insult? Any one know of any places online that have great deals on NEW platinum stud earrings? Thanks!
