If they’re too big people will think they’re fake.
If you can afford it, go for 3/4 to 1 carat total weight .
The important thing beside size is color and clarity. You don’t want any gray or yellowish diamonds, and you don’t want any streaks or feathering visible to the naked eye.
go to the jewelry store and pick 1 that u like then they’ll tell u the carat and price. knowing the carat size is not as good as seeing the sparkle in them and the designs that come in different sizes
1/4 carat is about the perfect size. Size isn’t what really matters though! Clarity, cut and how it is set makes the difference!
carla
wear carrot earrings instead. carrots are much easier to find and are not the source of slavery, misery, war, and death…
props to the carrot guy… made me laugh.
Answering your question… I wear 10’s (those are 10 pointers) not that I can’t afford the next size up.. quarters… I just have small ears! Like the people said above… look at clarity and cut… but also look at porportion. I work at a jewelry store and see these ladies come in with WAY out of porportion earings when smaller would look much nicer. I suggest starting with 10’s to quarters. Quarters fit most and 10’s for smaller ears. Find a home owned jewelry store that will give you full credit back on your earrings… if ANY time in your life time you choose to move the next size up. (Say you trade in your 10’s for halves). Thats what we do where I’m at! Stay in budget… but it IS an investment. 10’s down here go for around $230
