Pawn shops do not give you very much money. The amount would depend on where you live, but for a chain maybe $25.00, the earrings maybe $50.00. The chain they would treat as scrap gold, the earrings a little more because they have diamonds. Good luck.
pawn shops are rip offs …better off putting them in the paper to sell….say you payed 700 dollars for the earrings well they may offer you 30 bucks…if your lucky that is ,,,,,pawn shops are only out to make money on your lose….
It all depends on the size of the town you live in. We once pawned our matching wedding set and only got $100 but we live in small town with only one pawn shop. Plus we wanted to be able to get them back.
Check around at the different shops in your area. They will give you a price and you can either take it or go somewhere else.
I would definitely would not sell it to pawn shop. You will not get your money worth. If you really want to sell them, you can either try the ad in the newspaper or ebay online or go to ebay store. One time I took my jewelries down to the pawn shop and I felt like I have been punched in the stomach for what they were willing to pay. I also became a goldsmith few years after that happened. They do only give you what is worth of how much gold is today and then they weigh it and then give you certain percentage of it like 75% of what it should be worth. The pawn shop either sell it to wholesale precious metals or goldsmith for a little more money than they gave you but the wholesale precious metals company will give them what today worth and then take 25% out of it as well. It is kind of going in circle.
