be honest with him. Be like i really like these alot but i’m afraid of one getting lost by (sons name) again because these are so big. maybe we should get a smaller pair. but if you don’t feel comfortable doing that you can always keep them.

I would think you could be honest and tell him that you’d like to be able to wear them every day instead of just once in a while… but then men are such peculiar creatures…

im not a woman, but i am a guy, so asking him to return them could hurt his feelings. I would keep them, and maybe not wear them all the time, only parties, when going out to party, fancy restaurant. If he asks you why don’t you wear them all the time, simply explain to him you feel the are too flashy for casual wear, but you love the earrings, and they are perfect for more formally occasions.
